You are probably preparing for a new school year to begin at the end of the month, but I wanted to send you a note to say how much I appreciate QHA being an educational choice for my children for the past eight years.
Of my five children, my youngest three - David, Mary, and William - were enrolled in QHA. David graduated this year from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a degree in biology. Mary is leaving this month for the FUS semester in Austria. William just graduated, and he is currently applying for a plumbing apprenticeship.
I am so glad that there was an online academic program that could offer my children a truly Catholic education. The problem with parochial schools, which I also have experience with, is that they tend to use public school text books for all but the religion classes. Consequently, the students do not learn about the influence of the Catholic Church as the creating and sustaining force of Western civilization. Secular books teach that Western civilization was rooted in Greek philosophy (true), some acknowledge the Hebrew Bible (true), but then they skip to the Renaissance and arrive at the Enlightenment, with nothing noteworthy in between. The QHA curriculum ensures that students will not be indoctrinated with this cultural amnesia that plagues modern education and deprives students of the knowledge of their heritage.
That which is good, true, and beautiful elevates the mind and the soul, bringing us closer to God. I am grateful that my children had the opportunity to deepen their faith and grow closer to God as part of the QHA family.
